Lost Property Report Filing
We file the official Ishitsubutsu-todoke (遺失物届) with the police on your behalf. Required to claim items found by the public, and essential for insurance claims.
Power of Attorney Handling
Already left Japan? We prepare and use an Ininjo (委任状) — a legal power of attorney — so we can act as your official representative to retrieve the item.
In-Person Pickup
When your item is located, we physically travel to the location and collect it on your behalf. Available within the Tokyo metropolitan area and surrounding regions.

How It Works
Search the Tokyo Police lost property database
If your item was lost in Tokyo, you can search the official database yourself first — it’s free and updated daily. Note: the site is in Japanese only.

Found a close match? Send us the inquiry number
If you spot something that looks like your item, share the reference number with us. We’ll contact the police directly in Japanese to confirm the details on your behalf.
Pickup & international shipping
If you’d like us to collect and ship the item to you internationally, we handle everything — pickup, inspection, packing, and all export documentation. Shipping cost is billed separately.
Deliver to a friend in Japan, or temporary storage
Don’t need international shipping? We can deliver the item to someone in Japan on your behalf, or hold it safely until you arrange pickup. Just let us know.

I’ve already left Japan. Can you still help?
Yes. Most of our clients contact us after returning home. We handle everything remotely, including legal representation via power of attorney if required for pickup.
How much does international shipping cost?
Shipping costs vary depending on your country and the size and weight of the item. For something roughly palm-sized and under 1 kg, expect around $30. Items containing lithium batteries — such as iPhones — are subject to strict international regulations and may incur significantly higher costs. Contact us for a specific estimate.
Are there items that can’t be shipped internationally?
Yes. Prohibited items include perfume, aerosols (e.g. hairspray), matches, and other flammables. Restrictions also vary by destination country. When in doubt, contact us before requesting pickup.
How long does it take from request to delivery?
In the best case, around two weeks. If your item has already been found, we can pick it up within a few days — international shipping then takes approximately one week. Timeline depends on the item’s location and your destination country.
